They will removing the old unit and install a new, modern consumer unit, which typically takes a a day to complete. The process includes safety checks, disconnecting the old board, mounting the new one, and testing the entire system.

What to expect with a fuse board change:

• Assessment:

• Power off:

The power to the property is completely shut off to ensure safety. 

​

• Removal:

The old fuse board is unscrewed and removed. 

​

• Installation:

The new consumer unit is mounted on the wall, and the individual circuits are reconnected to the new fuses.

• Testing:

We will perform a series of tests to ensure everything is working correctly and safely. 

​

• Certification:

The work is certified to ensure it complies with current electrical safety regulations, such as the UK's BS 7671.

Only a fully qualified and registered electrician should change your fuse board and carry out electrical work on your home.

• Always check credentials:

Look for electricians who are members of recognised governing bodies, such as the NAPIT.
